Wolves have an efficient and rational gait. Besides their wild nature and their social instincts, their efficent and springy gait is what fascinates me about wolves. Wolves are lazy and will be a huge disappointment should one try to use them as working dogs. They are not proletars, but aristocrats by nature.

Wolfdog Skarv
Skarv has an amazing way of moving in the heavy snows. He puts the footprint of his hindfeet exactly in the footprint of his frontfeet. His track is then on a perfect single line which is very seldom seen in any breed of dogs. Skarv has a very heavy and dense wintercoat which makes him look like he has much shorter legs than he has for real. He is a leggy and narrow-chested fellow which only is displayed in his summercoat. I present him in both summer- and wintercoat.

Nordenden
Nordenden is the name of our "wolfden". Originally the oldest and northermost small farm in this valley. Nordenden can be translated as "the northernmost end" of the valley. Today it consists of 5 small buildings all made of log-timber. Due to local historians I live in a house more than 360 years old. The wolfdogs prefer to stay outside in a large pen and sleeps inside the kennels only in rain. Thanks to a heavy double fur they are weather resistant even during the coldest winternights. The pictures shows Nordenden in springclothing, summerdress and in a wintercoat.
Wolfdogwalking
Welcome to my wolfdogblog. I will create this blog as a diary about my life with my walking-friends. In fact we jog most of the time, except from weekends when we go to more remote places for hikes. During the wintermonths we enjoy the snow on skiruns or even on snowshoes. My wolfdogs are not workinganimals at all. They will not pull in the harness so I dont bother to put it on even when skiing. The quality of the wolfdog is his bonding, company and awareness of his relationship to his human friends. In short: his friendship.
