Nia where she belongs.

After months of proper socialization and training by Marijke Saarloos and Gerard De Moore in the Netherlands; the off-leash training with Nia is easier done than expected. Nia runs like a reindeer and enjoys the mountians with her grandmother Poukin. She is 7 months old and has still a lot of growing ahead until she becomes a mature female. The initiation day was a ghosty day as we hardly found our way down through the dense fog.

Summer Solstice Celebration

We wanted to celebrate the sunset and the sunrise of this years summersolstice at a mountain peak. The sunset was displayed on a serene bright sky and reflected a warm, mellow and yellowish color on the rocks and the spare vegetation. The photo on the mountaintop is shot approximately at 23.00 pm. The sunrise the successive morning however, was a contrast to the night before. A bitter snowstorm chilled us to the bones, but fulfilled and completed the experience of the untamed forces of the "Grandeur Nature".

1st of June

Summer is back. It is 1st of june. We had a small camp with a lavvo-tent at lake Mykle. Continuing the next morning with a 5 hours walk in the Skrim area. Temperatures rose to above 25. Nevertheless some snow still covered the paths in the forest protected by the shades of the spruce and the pine trees. This was both a relief and a joy for the wolves in the warm weather. On a mountain-peak with a panorama bird-eye-view I could see Blefjell at a distance. The lavvo-tent will be put permanently for some weeks at Blefjell this summer. Blefjell was still covered in snow all over and will not be accessible until at least a few weeks from now. I will make a try at midsummer.

Braking a trail.

Wolfdogs are lazy dogs and prefer the easy position; behind.

April triple days with the triple pack.

Due to reconstructions at my office I had to take 3 days off. The almighty presented me with acceptable weather and snow-conditions for a triple-days ski-tour. Pictures show the cabins where we stayed the nights and for the rest: the wolfdogs and the beauty.

Sunday at Blefjell. March 2008

Despite no real winter-climate at home this year; Blefjell is covered in its wintercoat and offers a wonderful landscape for skiing.

Nia

With the help of Marijke Saarloos and Gerard de Moor I can increase my little wolfdog pack. I have waited years for this combination / breeding to be done and am very enthusiastic and full of expectation with this little bitch.
