1st of May

The snow in my forest-tracks has not thawed completely yet. Presumably it will take another week. So while patiently waiting for the sun to complete the process of drying up, we can go skiing at "Blefjell". We start at dawn to get as cold snow surface as possible. Under such conditions the area is a real paradise for the dogs. It is not icy, but more like a dense and soft carpet solid enough to run on without breaking through.

Gazing over her territory

Only patches of snow remain in our running tracks. However too much and occationally too deep snow for jogging still. We expect the tracks to be available for running at approx. the 1st of may. Ax is gazing over her territory where our trodden paths still is hidden under patches of snow.

A Memorial Portrait.

Sad news was received from friends that one of the dogs born at the Nordenden Kennels has passed away at a too young age. Skog from Nordenden (Skog av Seppalaska; named by the FCI registery) was borned as a result of a conception under the conception-tree at spring equinox and full moon in 2002. With only one sibling; Skarv who still lives at Nordenen, he had a happy puppyhood with his caring mother and a protective father whom vomited his dinner to feed him every day. Skog went to France and has produced a large number of offspring highly estimated in France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Checkia and Finland. Some breeders even talk about a "Skog Lineage". His more easy-going brother Skarv and his halfbrother Ulv will still be available for breeding, but on a more careful and discriminating level. The pictures are of Skog, then below his son Jenko and last his daughter Nia.

Spring Equinox

After a long brake during the darker months of winter, the hens again start to lay nutritious and delicious eggs. It is peculiar how close to the spring equinox they start every year. This year only 3 days prior to the equilibrium date; last year at the exact date. From now on we have half a year with days longer than the nights. The eggs are a symbol and a celebration of the spring equinox every year at Nordenden. Happy Lucid Living!!!

The spring equinox of 2002 coincided almost mystically with the full moon and is the true initiation of the Nordenden-wolfdogs. Under the "conception tree", which is the tallest black spruce in this "county", the two impressive males Skog and Skarv was conceived. They were delivered by their mother Poukin 63 days later.

Donate a New Camera

I have 100ds of action-pictures like these onces; not sharp, not well adjusted light, but good memories of my dogs in action. My Nikon Coolpix 4300 makes nice pictures of objects that are not moving and on a bright sunny day. If you want to see good quality action pictures on my blog, please contribute by donating a new camera which can manage to make better action pictures for publishing here in the future.
